The base of the HealthMEDX Vision solution provides census, clinical electronic health record (EHR), and financial tools necessary to run any long-term care organization effectively.  Outside of the core functionality, HealthMEDX Vision provides the applications outlined below to extend the value of the system to MDS Coordinators.

HealthMEDX Vision goes beyond typical clinical electronic health record functionality with an Advanced Clinicals application.  Within the application, physician order entry is completed electronically to ensure legibility and order compliance.  HealthMEDX Vision users then access electronic MARs and TARs based on these orders.  When the medication pass is taking place, HealthMEDX Vision provides an advanced medication database with details on medications and material for resident education.

The HealthMEDX Vision advanced clinical application also provides an easy to use application that steps users through the documentation of Activities of Daily Living, supply usage, the capture of weights and vitals, and all care plan interventions.  Through an intuitive touch screen interface, these items are documented at the point of care to improve Medicare A revenue and supply charges.

The HealthMEDX Vision point of care application provides the capability to access, capture and communicate key resident information in real time.  The Point of Care application within HealthMEDX Vision is available for a wide selection of portable devices including tablet PC, laptop, touch-screen, and handhelds.

Communication between therapy providers and long-term care facilities is crucial to providing appropriate care for residents.  The HealthMEDX Vision solution combines therapy information with all other resident documentation in a single resident chart to streamline this communication.  With real-time access to the resident record, therapy oriented care plans are made available with assessments specific to physical, occupational, and speech therapy.  The HealthMEDX Vision solution automatically steps users through these assessments to ensure proper documentation has taken place.  The appropriate portions of the assessment are also automatically passed along to complete the MDS.

Management of therapy caps and schedules are also easily performed within the HealthMEDX Vision solution.  Scheduling functionality allows users to manage individual resident or employee schedules with a simple click.  Graphical views of staff availability and unscheduled services are presented on one screen to easily assign care responsibility and monitor its completion.  Real-time updates from staff completion of care automatically update system data to ensure services have been started and completed appropriately.

Organization specific policy and procedures are utilized to ensure the HealthMEDX Vision solution is designed to fit facility operations.  To bring on standard industry assessments, forms, and general workflow, HealthMEDX Vision provides a preconfigured content library with 60 assessments and forms.

Developed with oversight and input from leaders in the home care industry, the preconfigured content provided in the application addresses the entire care continuum from admission through assessment, billing, and collections.  The assessments and forms provided also include standard workflow rules to step users through the system to ensure all necessary information is captured and documented.
