Before a resident ever enters the doors, there are numerous efforts in place to help drive residents to choose a specific facility for services.  HealthMEDX Vision offers a full customer relationship management (CRM) solution that helps determine which efforts are providing the greatest return.  Sales and marketing activities are scheduled and tracked within the system to ensure key steps in the prospecting phase are not missed.

When leads come in for sales staff, they are assigned with follow-up tasks to be completed.  As new leads come into the facility, referral sources are tracked to identify efforts that are producing the greatest number of referrals.

To help maximize leads and referrals, wait list management can be performed in the system to help notify potential residents the moment beds are available.  Post-discharge marketing activities can be automated as well. 

HealthMEDX Vision goes beyond typical clinical electronic health record functionality with an Advanced Clinicals application.  Within the application, physician order entry is completed electronically to ensure legibility and order compliance.  HealthMEDX Vision users then access electronic MARs and TARs based on these orders.  When the medication pass is taking place, HealthMEDX Vision provides an advanced medication database with details on medications and material for resident education.

The HealthMEDX Vision advanced clinical application also provides an easy to use application that steps users through the documentation of Activities of Daily Living, supply usage, the capture of weights and vitals, and all care plan interventions.  Through an intuitive touch screen interface, these items are documented at the point of care to improve Medicare A revenue and supply charges.

The HealthMEDX Vision point of care application provides the capability to access, capture and communicate key resident information in real time.  The Point of Care application within HealthMEDX Vision is available for a wide selection of portable devices including tablet PC, laptop, touch-screen, and handhelds.

When new medications or refills are needed, time has to be set aside to contact the pharmacy and call or fax in prescriptions.  HealthMEDX Vision connects directly to the pharmacy for the electronic ordering of necessary medications eliminating these burdensome, manual processes.  Electronic transfer of medications to the pharmacy helps ensure prescription accuracy and timely fulfillment.  The HealthMEDX Vision ePrescribing application utilizes standard HL7 messaging to communicate with pharmacy applications.  The use of this standard messaging platform ensures any pharmacy system can be utilized with the ePrescribing application.

Communication between therapy providers and long-term care facilities is crucial to providing appropriate care for residents.  The HealthMEDX Vision solution combines therapy information with all other resident documentation in a single resident chart to streamline this communication.  With real-time access to the resident record, therapy oriented care plans are made available with assessments specific to physical, occupational, and speech therapy.  The HealthMEDX Vision solution automatically steps users through these assessments to ensure proper documentation has taken place.  The appropriate portions of the assessment are also automatically passed along to complete the MDS.

Management of therapy caps and schedules are also easily performed within the HealthMEDX Vision solution.  Scheduling functionality allows users to manage individual resident or employee schedules with a simple click.  Graphical views of staff availability and unscheduled services are presented on one screen to easily assign care responsibility and monitor its completion.  Real-time updates from staff completion of care automatically update system data to ensure services have been started and completed appropriately.

Laboratory systems, physician office applications, and even radiology systems have critical information that helps to provide proper care to residents.  Within the HealthMEDX Vision solution, HL7 messaging is utilized to connect these disparate systems to streamline communications and complete the resident record.

The HealthMEDX Vision solution can send and receive standard HL7 messages to update HealthMEDX information or to update other systems databases in real-time.  HealthMEDX follows the standards for electronic interchange of clinical, financial, and administrative information among health care oriented systems to help move organizations towards the common goal of an interoperable Electronic Health Record.

Communication of care to physicians, resident family, surveyors, and other interested parties can consume a large amount of staff time.  The HealthMEDX Vision Portal application provides the ability to define views and access to information such as Diagnoses, Allergies & Meds, external Physician Orders, and Electronic Signature to proactively communicate with necessary parties outside of the organization’s staff.  Links can also be provided to access organizational documentation such as internal policies and procedures. The Portal application provides HIPAA compliant access to resident data in disparate databases in virtually any type of electronic medium.

HealthMEDX Vision provides an advanced context-relevant and integrated medication database from First DataBank.  The First DataBank application provides widely used drug database products , powerful software for drug database integration and trusted drug reference products.  The First DataBank application combines medication descriptions and pricing information with an extensive array of clinical decision-support modules. It encompasses medications approved by the FDA, plus information on commonly-used over-the-counter and alternative therapy agents, such as herbals, nutraceuticals and dietary supplements.  Outside of the interaction database, First DataBank also provides reference materials for staff and resident education.

Organization specific policy and procedures are utilized to ensure the HealthMEDX Vision solution is designed to fit facility operations.  To bring on standard industry assessments, forms, and general workflow, HealthMEDX Vision provides a preconfigured content library with 60 assessments and forms.

Developed with oversight and input from leaders in the long-term care industry, the preconfigured content provided in the application addresses the entire care continuum from admission through assessment, billing, and collections.  The assessments and forms provided also include standard workflow rules to step users through the system to ensure all necessary information is captured and documented.
