When Pam left McKesson, she considered herself “in the know, an expert” in the healthcare system. That was before she served as the primary care provider for her mother while she recovered from very invasive cancer surgery, before she supported her father-in-law after his quadruple by-pass surgery and before she actively participated in her mother-in-law’s post stroke rehab.

This personal experience left a permanent and profound impact on Pam and the value that she place on post-acute care management. Often considered, unimportant or “less strategic” post-acute services – long-term care, home care, rehab, and hospice – are critical components of the healthcare delivery system and serve as the cornerstone of care for senior Americans recovering from significant health incidents or frail and elderly people requiring ongoing, chronic management. The impact of these services extends far beyond the patient, the entire family is involved.

After supporting her family during this challenging period, Pam began writing a business plan and looking for a company that could impact the post-acute experience. During her search, she met the team at HealthMEDX and had the opportunity to see the company’s comprehensive post-acute technology platform. At HealthMEDX, Pam found an innovative team using a web based, SaaS platform to drive quality and efficiency to the post-acute environment.  She saw HealthMEDX’s efforts making complex patient care safer, more efficient and more affordable for over 3,000 post-acute organizations across the county.

Pamela Pure became CEO of HealthMEDX in December of 2011.  
 
Pam brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare IT and services  to her position at HealthMEDX.  Her tenure as a healthcare executive provides her with a unique ability to craft strategic direction and drive operational execution. Pam inspires her employees through her  commitment to customer success and her  focus on innovation and development   With an early career in product management and customer implementations, she  has a strong commitment to developing products that drive value to the end user.
 
Before joining HealthMEDX, Pam spent 8 years at McKesson, most recently as Executive Vice President,  President of McKesson Technology Solutions the largest healthcare information technology/services business in the world. During her tenure at McKesson the business grew from $900 million in revenue to $3 billion dollars and margins increased by 84%+. Prior to joining McKesson she served in multiple executive roles in operations, product management, marketing, and development.   Pam has held senior leadership positions at  IDX and Shared Medical Systems and ran ChannelHealth a start-up company focused on physician EMR technology that was ultimately sold to Allscripts.  
 
Pam was actively involved in the development and rollout of HiTech, the Healthcare IT component of the American Recovery Act.  She provided congressional testimony supporting the use of HIT to reduce medication errors. She has been recognized as Atlanta Woman of the Year in Technology and as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare .
